Jennifer Garard is the Project Coordinator on the Futures CoLab project at the Future Earth Montreal Hub, organizing participant recruitment, communication and writing project outputs. Previously, Jennifer was employed as a doctoral researcher with the working group Scientific Assessments, Ethics, and Public Policy at Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin, Germany. She was a core member of the Future of Global Environmental Assessment-Making Project, heading the research stream on stakeholder engagement.
Jennifer holds a BSc in Environmental Science from McGill University, specializing in Biodiversity and Conservation, and a Masters of Environmental Assessment from Concordia University. In 2012, Jennifer served as an intern with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, working with the Health and Biodiversity Cross-Cutting Initiative. Her PhD thesis at Technical University Berlin will be defended in fall 2018. Her thesis is entitled "Analyzing Stakeholder Engagement at the Science-Policy Interface." She is a research fellow in the Earth System Governance network and a member of the Linking Impact Assessment Instruments to Sustainability Expertise network.
